Holiday Workout Strategy

The holidays are a joyous time full of excitement, cheer and once-a-year type of stress! Over the years I have found that one of the best ways to maintain my balance and maximize the joy of holiday shopping, eating and general merry making is by finding creative ways to squeeze in my workouts. Nothing beats the clear headed calm that you feel after a great workout, especially when you do not even need to leave your home!

A heavy holiday to-do list feels more manageable when you set aside time to take care of your body and your mind. Is this challenging? Yes, but with the right strategy it is do-able! It is all too easy to neglect ourselves in the rush to take care of others, particularly during the holidays. Exercise makes everything more fun at this time of year by lightening your mood, clearing your head and making your body feel great!  I also find that even a small amount of exercise helps me make better food choices and stay on track with an overall healthy lifestyle.

Don't worry if you don't have the ideal 30 minutes or hour a day to workout. Flexibility is going to be key to making it happen. Even if you can only find five minutes here and there for abs, Swan Arms or a BB Bridge your body will feel the difference. If you need some extra inspiration, our Holiday Workout Series provides festive Nutcracker inspired workouts with a combo of fabulous cardio, mat work and toning. This series is a fun way to workout while celebrating the holiday spirit! I have included a few short clips of the holiday workouts below as a sneak peek :)

So please remember to treat yourself with kindness this holiday season and make time for your workout and yourself!

Try it this week and let me know how you feel! Sending love and warm wishes! xoxo Mary Helen
